Hope

Despite the heat, the wind, the intermittent humidity, a trooper Gentiana (septemfida ssp.) grossheimii blooms today in its seed pot.

(Added later: -And continued to bloom {in the form of a single flower} for eight days.  I am humbled.)

  1. Cuter than the proverbial bug's ear! I have half a dozen septemfidas, each unique from the next, not to mention hybrids with paradoxa. I saw forms in the Altai, much further east than I thought they grew, and they were distinct from what we have as well: you could fill your garden with these and not exhaust their coerulean beauty!

  2. Fill a garden? Sounds like advice. I'll take it!
